The Cultural Wellness Center (CWC) is hosting a Field trip (site visit) to the Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis on Thursday, October 28th, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. We will be hosting the
Interdisciplinary Research Leaders (IRL) a national leadership program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation housed at the University of Minnesota.
The Community Research Ethics Board member Kathleen Call recommended the Cultural Wellness Center as 1 of the 3 sites to visit. The CWC’s Backyard Community Health Hub inside of the Midtown Global Market gives an experience of the past, present, and future of health and wellness and the vital impact culture has on the well-being of communities especially those who participate in the Backyard Community Health Hub Programs (BYHH). More than 50, 000 people have participated in more than 35 activities from 2008 to the present. During the pandemic, programming transitioned to online and expanded to serving people around the world.
