About the event

Before freeways and buses dominated Minneapolis, trains shaped the movement of people, goods, neighborhoods, and opportunity across the region.

Join Slow Roll MSP for a unique community ride exploring the forgotten and evolving story of rail transit in Minneapolis - from the streetcar systems of Lake Street and Uptown to the rail corridors that built Hopkins and connected the western suburbs to the city.

Together, we’ll ride the trails and corridors that once carried streetcars, freight lines, and commuter trains while imagining what the future of mobility, trails, transit, and connected neighborhoods could become.
